I done 14 nights on the britannia last July with similar itinery, was really good, scenery was fantastic, the britannia has just had a refit aswell, bar prices similar to pub prices, plenty of bars and restaurants, entertainment was good aswell

Am I cutting off my nose in not wanting to use P&O cause of wages scandal?
    sconedu2's avatar
Are you getting mixed up with p & o ferries

I'm going on this exact cruise later in the year. This is a BARGAIN price if you can go at short notice.

I wouldn't budget very much for excursions! Hire some Bromptons to take with you? I haven't checked but think many cruise lines allow them, if kept in a bag, in the cabin and only taken out of the bag when ashore. Certainly not sure when it comes to electric ones with lithium batteries.... although they all near enough have to allow disabled persons electric wheelchairs and buggies.

Strange that the views always show beautiful green hills and trees - yet its never raining in any of the photos. Plus the sea looks like a millpond and not something from Pirates of the Caribbean....

Yea also the fact that they advertised so many places but really quite a few are just cruise by to get to the next destination but using it as a marketing tool to make you feel like you have gone to more places Vs other cruise ships.

Done similar on Iona, well worth going on! Don’t bother with a drinks package, you’d need to drink a lot to get your moneys worth

My brother came of iona on Saturday, I haven't seen him yet but by the looks of the pictures he sent me he's had a good time.

I am too frugal and can't pay tips. Should I still go if this is all inc? I don't like the pressure of giving tips, I may do if I like the service but consider I may not so can I still go enjoy or will I be looked down at and treated separately?
    Deal_searcher's avatar
    I thought tips were included

I’m guessing this full board doesn’t include drinks?
    sconedu2's avatar
It includes water, tea and coffee in the buffet

For a cruise this scenic I think I would want an outside / balcony cabin but there are only inside cabins left.

edit: If this is for you, it seems the price for an inside cabin has dropped a bit further again (£480pp), includes £70 onboard spend and complimentary shuttle buses in port. (edited)

Do they have coaches at the ports to take you on excursions?
    hcc27's avatar
They do, but you need to pay individually for them.

booked for next May. Took the £200 extra option for drinks and coach pick up and return. (from Doncaster) Upgraded our room to balcony. Cost £1200 pp. Trips are extra. The cable car nr Olden is an extra £70 to £80 pp. Got to be done though. Views look bang on but dont book until the day for the cable car. If its low cloud you wont see a thing
    jaffamuffin's avatar
£1200 perperspn? So about 2.5x the cost of this deal? I hope
its worth it, can you post here after and let us know.  ?

Norwegian Fjords but no Geiranger, no thank you
    Deal_searcher's avatar
Well you won't be going anytime soon after 2025, think they are putting in rules so that only fully renewable ie. Electric only boats can go to the UNESCO protected fjords from 2026

The thing I have with P&O is that every time I try to book with a toddler it seems to have no space on the inside cabins. I wonder if they limit the number of toddlers allowed
    NoSocks's avatar
it is to do with space for a cot?
