LCD Screen.

We partnered with AMD to create Steam Deck's custom APU, optimized for handheld gaming. It is a Zen 2 + RDNA 2 powerhouse, delivering more than enough performance to run the latest AAA games in a very efficient power envelope.

Once you've logged into Steam Deck, your entire Steam Library shows up, just like any other PC. You'll also see the compatibility rating of each game, indicating the kind of experience you can expect when playing. You can dynamically filter any view in your library by compatibility rating if you're looking for specific sorts of experiences.

The Steam Deck was built for extended play sessions—whether you're using thumbsticks or trackpads—with full-size controls positioned perfectly within your reach. The rear of the device is sculpted to comfortably fit a wide range of hand sizes.

At his price I really would go for the OLED

It's not just a massively better screen you get

Higher download speed from new Wi-Fi Chip (improves 5ghz speed which was quite slow on the original as well as introducing 6ghz)
Higher refresh rate (90hz) makes a huge difference for fast paced games
Larger screen (7 to 7.4 inches, improves screen to body ratio)
    HDR
    Bigger battery
    Lower running temperature
    Less fan noise
    Small performance boost
    Minor build improvements
    Minor Sound improvements

If you wanted to save a bit of money, you can get a refurbished one for £319 - same warranty etc as a new one. 256GB is £279

Buying CEX vouchers at 15% off face value, you can buy an A Grade OLED 512gb model for £408 when they have stock (They drip in and out quite consistently, cex paying £384 for them which is pretty good for a no hassle sale if you wanted to sell one, which is why I sold mine to them) - £26 well spent..

£391 (With -15% face value vouchers) for B Grade LED ones, which from my experience are still very good condition.. (edited)

trouble is the warranty through CEX, yes you get 24 months but they wont repair, they'll just replace it. If they have nothing to replace it with you'll get vouchers instead. At least with Valve your guaranteed of a repair.

I got a non-OLED 64GB refurb for £250, then put in a £70 1TB drive. That's £320 all in for a 1TB unit. Cheapest OLED is +£160 (50% more cost) with half the storage. I don't have any buyers remorse and I'm really glad I got one.
Will be interesting to see when the OLED refurb units come out. In the meantime, I'm happy gaming on the LCD.

At the end of the day its all still a lot of money for superseded PC handheld gaming tech.
