There's been multiple blind taste tests on ketchup on TV over the years. I don't think I've ever seen a single one where heinz comes anywhere near the top. The power of a brand name on people is crazy.

i legit used to be a heinz addict. i still love ketchup but only ever bought heinz for 10 years. seeing how expensive it was , i decided to try out other brands, and ended up liking the Sainsburys cheapo one even more than heinz! save about £3 per bottle now...

Because they are a "for profit, owned by shareholders" business and because there are people who will buy at the full price.

Currently the same price £2.25 at Sainsburys, Tesco, Waitrose and Morrisons
And £2 at Asda (in store, selected stores).

Thanks, more chance of getting some. Saw staff stacking them in Sainsbury's last night. Bet they'll be gone by 8am, or sooner.
