Got into an argument with smarty at the weekend as they said I had zero roaming data. I am on a 32gb contract and they said because I had used over 18gb of my monthly allowance they wouldn’t be giving me my 12gb roaming allowance.
went back and forth for a few hours on the hotel wifi before they said they would gift me 4gb roaming. they’ve got a nerve withholding data, apparantly it’s in the small print somewhere.

Was looking at this. Their fair use policy states:

'Subject to our fair use limit, you can use up to 12GB of data each month out of your monthly allowance. If you need more data, you can buy a data add-on'.

This is the same for all but they do now have an add-on you can buy which will unlock all your limit, for a small fee of course. Its called an EU Data pass which allows this:

'On a 16GB Voice plan or above? Heading on holiday in the EU? Then this is the add-on for you. This pass unlocks the 12GB EU roaming limit so you can use your full data allowance, with no restrictions.

We have 2 passes available:
1 day
3 days

Please note: This pass will only display for those on a plan higher than 12GB. Customers on a lower plan are already covered by the 12GB we give for free. Customers on a lower data plan can purchase a Data add-on if more data is needed when roaming'.

I asked about prices and it was quite reasonable (can't remember sorry). I need unlimited data for a week in Spain and I think it works out best to get an unlimited plan on smarty through TCB and then buy the add-on for 2 x 3 days.

I had one in an area where I should get 5G....I just about managed 4G getting 8meg. Customer service said that was fine 🙃

What are the terms of the TCB payout? Do you need to keep the sim active for a minimum number of months? Can't see any T&Cs to that effect yet I have been denied a payout on two sims ...
