got this laptop last year from Very for £740 which at the time was an absolute steal for the specs. (*EDIT: just realised this is not the same as mine but very similar, this has a 1080p screen not 1440p)

Excellent laptop and unfortunately now discontinued model and support will end by 2026 I believe or maybe 2027.

This is the last of its kind, 16:9 *2560x1440 QHD laptop screen as all laptops nowadays are 16:10. recording clips and screen sharing in 16:9 makes it so much more compatible with YouTube if you like sharing your gameplays

3060 is actually pretty solid but wish it had 8gb vram as some games really do use up all the 6gb vram it offers. not necessarily a 1440p GPU but its definitely playable especially with DLSS but that 1440p is nice bonus over 1080p just looks sharp.

The RAM is upgradeable and does not void warranty for as long as you do not damage the laptop yourself when upgrading ram.

Also there is a spare SSD slot which supports PCIe Gen 4.0. The specs list shows that it supports up to 1TB. This isn’t true you can install a 2TB or higher just fine

However that battery life claim of up to 11hrs is false. Even with screen set to 60Hz and dGPU disabled, power saving mode on. At best it will last for around 4hrs from my case of just watching youtube with brightness at 50% (edited)

It's a PC, what are you talking about? "Support" for it is what you choose it to be. The Gpu is gonna be getting drivers into the 2030s and it will be able to run both windows and Linux into the 2030s and certainly Linux into the 2040s and likely 2050s too. Really have no clue what you are talking about.

Managed to snap up a Legion Loq 15 with intel 13650hx and rtx4060 for £800 last month. Lenovo have some great machines if you don't want to spend a fortune. Good deal op

That's a really good deal, do you know if it is still available or how much the price is now?🙏🏽

Saw this under ‘similar items’ looking at the Ideapad 5 Pro, it’s a decent system for the money especially with that display, though I guess the 3060 will be a turn off for some, but solid build and good thermals.

Anyone has any idea how this fares against the legion 5 1660ti?

3060 is around 33% faster reading the internet and obviously much newer architecture.

I've had a Legion 5p with a 2060 for three years and it has been excellent, with no problems.

    Same here.

I have a 2060 too. I only have a slight audio problem only from the speakers. I have to mute then unmute for sound to play. I normally have headphones in, so it doesn't lose sound when the headphones are being used.
My 2060 has handled every game well whilst plugged in.

Great deal. I had the 8gb 1660 ti version of this from Costco which was excellent and this laptop definitely supersedes - 2 year warranty also a bonus.

Great deal. No good reason to replace my Legion 5 4800H yet... cool heads must prevail.

Is that good or bad? I have no idea how fast tech/these specs drop in price.

Costco's website says it's hdmi 2.0. On the official 2.1. Anyone know what it's really like? I reckon 2.1 but I have to be sure.

I’m looking for a 9 years olds first gaming laptop for Roblox, Minecraft, Fortnite, overwatch 2 and to start collecting some steam games. Would this fit the bill? He plus on Xbox and a rubbish 9th generation iPad at the moment
    Jaime_VanHunskerken's avatar
For those kinds of games it's more than enough.
