Serious Question:

For those that choose not to use these kind of deodorants: could anyone recommend effective, natural alternatives to deodorants made with industrial chemicals?

(I don't like body odour. But I don't like the idea of blocking sweat pores, that are there for a reason. Hence the question) (edited)

I have been using Procoal activated charcoal, natural deodorant balm for a few years now, my 18 year old son has switched to it too (18 year old B O ). 'best stuff ever', his words.
It does take a short while to work, just give it a chance.

Yes, I can confirm it is an 'old man' smell, it's right up there with Old Spice. Not to say that they are bad fragrances, it's just that they came out in the 70s & 80s and it's mostly men of a certain age that wear them. But give it a few years and it will be the latest trend to 'smell like your grand dad'... Mark my words young man!
